The tone feels grand and mournful and, to be honest, not totally dissimilar from Superman Returns -- which was actually a decent film, if you ignore the actors and the plot -- but the movie looks so distinctive (dig that shot of Superman's takeoff) that you can't help but get excited to see this new version of the Last Son of Krypton. Best of all: Not a slow-motion shot in sight!
